Stanford Surgeon Caught in the Act of Setting Fires at Two Businesses

A Stanford University general surgeon was taken into custody in the Bay-area city of San Carlos. He has been charged with Arson and Vandalism.

According to information released by the San Mateo County District Attorney,  officers for the sheriff’s department responded to two different businesses on two separate occasions, where each time they found Doctor Noah M. Minskoff, age 34, acting strangely, setting fires, ransacking desks and files and – on one occasion – coating the floor of a business known as Thermo Essence with a fire starter. On both occasions, he was transported to the San Mateo County psychiatric facility. Following his release, he was then taken into custody.

According to court records, both incidences occurred last December.

Arson

Minskoff, who is on staff at Stanford University Medical Center, was charged with two counts of arson; one count of felony vandalism; one count of felony possession of brass knuckles and one count of resisting arrest. He is currently out on $150,000 bail, on the condition that he remain under psychiatric supervision.

Minskoff has a trial date set for September 3.
