Palm Springs Physician Sentenced Yet Again for Identity Theft & Forgery

A former Coachella Valley obstetrician has been sent to prison once again for a multitude of Prescription Fraud crimes.

Dr Lisa Michelle Barden

Doctor Lisa M. Barden, age 43, was arrested most recently in Riverside county after she had tried to use a fake drug prescription at the Main Street Pharmacy in the city of Corona. As she had in the past, she used another doctor’s medical license number and prescription information to make her purchase for narcotics. As in the past also, the pharmacy staff recognized her and called the Corona police.

Barden’s charges included identity theft; forgery; falsification of a prescription, as well as check fraud and misrepresentations of her legal status, claiming she was a licensed doctor. The California State Medical Board had in fact revoked her license following her previous convictions.

Lisa Barden was sentenced to five years in prison but will very likely spend less than two years in confinement, due to her ‘non-violent’ felony status.

We find the following information regarding Lisa Barden, MD worth mentioning. In dissecting the details of her previous case, it is abundantly clear that this habitual street criminal in a lab coat was originally found guilty of 275 Felonies, yet served one year behind bars. That works out to be a little more than one day per crime.

The ugly reality is this: No one else in society is held to a lower standard of discipline than errant doctors.
