In Butler County, Pennsylvania, doctor David Evanko, was found guilty of deviate sexual intercourse, as well as statutory rape of a young Boy Scout.
Evanko, a former Boy Scout leader, had been accused of sexually assaulting two boys more than 20 years ago, and now faces at least five years in prison, after judge Judge Fred Anthony convicted him of crimes involving the younger of the two boys.
Evanko, age 58, who was considered a prominent physician in his community, was arrested in 2009 after two brothers, now adults, reported to police that he would provide them with alcohol and pornographic movies. He would then have sex with them, in the early 1990s. According to the investigation, authorities believed these encounters took place over several years, and involved as many as 100 separate sex acts on the children.
Evanko remains free on bail until sentencing.
Nils Frederiksen, a spokesman for the state attorney general’s office, called the conviction a success. He stated Dr. Evanko was found guilty “based on the facts, and will be sentenced based on the facts.”
While on the subject of physicians who commit child sex crimes, Medical Miscreants investigations reveal that – according to the U.S. Department of Justice – four of the “top five worst” child predators in U.S. history, were doctors.
